Our Story: How did we get into BBQ Competition?

	I grew up in Jenks Oklahoma and my first memories of BBQ involve my father and a Hasty-Bake. Dad passed away ten years ago but my fondest memories of him are the times he was at his smoker cooking for family get-togethers using his pocketknife to cut off little tastes for me. He also left me a wonderful secret family recipe BBQ sauce that sets us apart from other teams here in Texas. In 2008 my dear friend Dawn invited me to field a BBQ team to help raise money for Camp Craig Allen. At the encouragement of my wife Kim and my son Eric, I recruited some friends and co-workers and we entered. Our goal has always been to give back for the blessings we have received by raising money for charity and have fun. We're not too interested in chasing points on the circuit and we don't do events that don't have a party or festival attached. So far we've been successful beyond our dreams. We've scored a first place in Ribs and Brisket, top ten finishes in many other categories, met some great friends, and most important: We raised over $100,000 for Camp Craig Allen in six years! We're going to continue to cook, raise money, and have a blast. We hope to see you at some of our events. And don't forget, if you're in the NW of Fort Worth we will smoke a ham or a brisket for any occasion and include a jar of our secret family receipe BBQ sauce.
